2 Stars smells AWFUL
This seat is very convenient and it’s always in our car, but the smell is just really toxic and terrible. i thought it would air out but it’s been over a year and it still smells like the inside of a plastics factory. 5 stars for usability, 2 for “wtf! this is for kids” .. use better materials!

1 Star Don’t waste your money
Several friends loved this seat so I bought it too. But it was a mistake. Materials are of poor quality. Both nylon clips for strapping it down to the seat and back of the chair broke within 12 months. One broke after just a few months but the other eventually did too .. cheap plastic. Also the seat caved in long before our son reached 30 pounds.

The ‘first years’ booster we own is much older and none of the clips on it have ever failed so it isn’t us. It’s this seat and its poor materials.

2 Stars I would rate it 5 starts if…
The idea is great. But the materials this booster seat is made of can’t be good to breathe in for anybody, esp. kids. It smells hurrendous. I aired it outside for a lot of hours - it didn’t help. I put it out in the garage. It still smells horrible after a week. I am planning on writing to the manufacturer to request some info on the materials this seat was made of.

1 Star Not Safe
My 6 month old baby fell backwards, chair and all, in this seat. Use a high chair with legs that pyramid out. This product is not safe.

4 Stars Love it!!
We received this chair as a baby shower gift. We love it!! My son is now more than 2&1/2 and we still use it all of the time. If fact we used it tonight. He is close to the weight limit of 30lbs now and it is still working well. We get so many compliments on the chair people just think it is so neat…and it really is.

Pros: 1. Your child doesn’t have to sit in a dirty restaurant highchair or booster. 2. Very portable, folds up almost flat, lightweight, and easy to use. 3. Keeps your kiddos secure and still. 4. Very comfortable (or so says my son) 5. Cons: 1. A little hard to clean (*see below). 2. You can’t use it in a booth. 4. It would be nice if there were a place to store the straps that attach to the booster to the chair so they didn’t just hang down when it is folded up. 5. It is a little awkward to attach the booster bottom straps to the bottom part of the chair, you have to get down on your knees or stick your butt up in the air. (In fairness, any chair like this would have this problem) We just never buckle the bottom strap anymore and it still holds my son just fine…but I wouldn’t do that with a baby or a wiggly kiddo.

*Tip for cleaning: I take mine out on the back porch, hose it down with water, use a tiny bit of Ivory dish soap, and scrub it with a small kitchen brush similar to a toothbrush but a little larger. This method seems to get it pretty clean. The fabric has proven very durable.

After close to three years of use I’m impressed with this little seat. The pros far outweigh the cons and I would purchase this product again without hesitation. It is well worth the money so much, so we will be getting one soon for our new daughter.

User Ratings and Reviews

2 Stars Would never recommend this system
We bought this system to use with our new baby daughter. From the start, it has been frustrating. I would never recommend another Eddie Bauer (and it seems they are made by Dorel Juvenile Group) product, as we are now attempting to use an Eddie Bauer covertible seat given to us as a gift, and I’m not much happier. We also have the pack’n play from this set, and the changing table ripped within 3 months of use with a brand new baby–they won’t pay to fix it. Poor craftsmanship on ALL of these products. Issues with this seat/stroller:

1) The straps twist CONSTANTLY, and are impossible to get untwisted. I’ve resigned myself to having to strap my daughter into the seat with straps twisted over themselves 2-3 times. I’ve since read other reviews, and they say the same thing.

2) The sun hood on the seat is warped, and will not stay where you place it–it came this way. Unable to fix it. It also will only come up to where the carrier handle is, so can only face one way. Other maker seats let the hood go under the handle so you can adjust for the direction the sun is coming from.

3) This is a HEAVY carrier to lug around with your baby inside. Much heavier than graco counterparts.

4) To hook into the bottom belt buckle in the carrier, you must hold the two pieces of the harness strap together to make the plastic “buckles” line up to fit into the base buckle. This is VERY difficult to do one handed with a squirming infant.

5) Stroller: to put carrier on top you must use a provided metal bar that hooks into the stroller. The plastic it hooks into is flimsy and thin. Ours is already bending easily. You must take this bar out to put child into stroller without carrier. It is a nuisance. Stroller is otherwise ok, but altogether not a good buy considering my great dislike of the carrier.

1 Star Horrible Infant Car Seat!
Do not waste your money on this travel system. The infant car seat is horrible to use. The buckle is like a puzzle piece! I also had difficulty lining up the car seat w/ the base in order for it to “snap” in place. I agree with the previous reviewer about the stroller and the odd metal bar that is necessary for use w/ the car seat. Unfortunately, I was so frustrated w/ this system that I ended up buying another infant seat. I would recommend the Chicco KeyFit infant seat. It was like a dream after dealing w/ this nightmare!

3 Stars Keep looking
Overall, it works and seems like a safe, quality product. Would I buy it again knowing what I know now (have been using it for 5 weeks)? NO.

Pro: softer fabric than most travel systems, good padding, nice pattern

Con: buckle in infant carrier is very wide- we have to bend my daughter’s legs so her knees point out, otherwise it is digging into her inner thighs. stroller and carrier are very heavy and cumbersome to load in the car. easy to understand but takes forever to adjust shoulder straps.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Very heavy but a good system.
I bought this travel system because the car seat had lots of padding and the stroller was really easy to control. The fabric is also nice. The straps on the car seat can be difficult to handle though. The biggest problem is that the car seat with a 15lb baby in it is so heavy even my husband has trouble getting it in the truck. The stroller folds up very easily but is also very bulky and heavy.

5 Stars We love this system
WE liked this one the best of all the carseat-strollers systems we saw. It has taken us through 2 children now. We got it as a gift when our son was born premature. He was 3.5 lbs when he left the hospital and even then he could still fit in the car seat and be protected. Our daughter now uses the system and seems to be outgrowing it very fast. ;) The only thing we found was that as they neared the upper weight limit we had to find a buckle to keep the harness from coming loose. That actually was an easy fix.

3 Stars Great stroller but heavy for women
I bought this from Amazon. The product arrived quickly and well boxed. I have no complain about this except it’s too heavy. A woman with a child will have difficulty load and unload this from the car.

5 Stars All around excellent
I’ve bought this for 2 mother’s so far and both are very pleased with the versatility and quality. This is an all in one car seat, carrier and stroller and is very will made and easy to use. Worth the price.

5 Stars Great Stroller
I bought this stroller in 2005 in Ashley color. I loved it and I love it even more after 3 years. I live between Italy and the US and this stroller is pretty big for european vehicles but that apart I can assure your life will be so easy if you use it to travel and such. the first trip from italy to the USA (3 layovers, 22 hours trip total and all alone with the baby) when my child was 6 months old. I had a huge tote bag that I kept in the storage place underneath the stroller together with the diaper bag.. (life made easy with all that room available) and I also had a carry on that I was dragging around.. Well.. I was pushing the stroller with just one hand and the other of course was holding and pulling the carry on.. this stroller was great the whole time. Now she is almost 3 years old and we still travel a lot.. she is heavier and this stroller keeps on saving my life every time.. the handle to close and open it allows you to operate it with one hand. I seriously recommend it.
