1 Star Looks aren’t everything
I received the 2006 model of this stroller for my baby shower. I has read good reviews on it and thought it was more attractive than your run-of-the-mill Graco stroller, and less expensive than the trendy Bugaboo. I am so dissappointed with the quality of this stroller, however. The main problem I have with it is that no matter what I do this stroller veers to the left when strolling. This make the stroller IMPOSSIBLE to use. I literally have used this stoller less than 5 times and I’ve had it for a year. Everytime I try to use it I get so frusterated that I want to just throw the stroller away. Please do not waste your money on this product.
4 Stars We like it…
Well, I wanted to chime in and give a good review of the bumbleride flyer. We purchased for our first born and have not been too terribly disappointed. Like others, we could not justify the $$$$ of the Bugaboo (esp. considering it’s made it Taiwan, not like it’s made in Europe or US), but wanted something cooler/better than Graco or the like.
I’ve never had another stroller, so I don’t have something else to compare it with, but even with that said, we’ve had a relatively postive experience with the Flyer, so wanted to share.
I wish it had the option to have 2 cup holders, instead of just one and a bit of a larger basket below the seat, but it is still spacious enough. I do have to agree with other reviewer, that it sometimes doesn’t latch shut when you fold it down and it can be difficult to get up on the curb, but you just have to finagle it a bit. So those would probably be my 2 complaints of the stroller(and why I didn’t give a 5 star review). Other than that, we really enjoy the stroller and have had no real “issues” with it. It rolls just fine for us in our neighborhood, at the mall and in the park on the gravel path. It does stear much better in the forward facing position, but having the option to switch the handle around so you can face your baby can be a life saver. I’ve been out with our daughter and she was fine facing out for half the walk, but on the way back she’s gotten upset and having the option to switch and see her has helped calm her down. If I hadn’t had that option, she would have screamed all the way home.
I’m sure the Bugaboo probably is a bit better than the Flyer, especially in a big city setting, but I can’t see how it could possibly be $1000 better! That’s just us though.
2 Stars Good for the 1st year, but after that I don’t recommend this stroller.
Yes, this had a good review last 2007, but I highly don’t recommend this stroller to new parents. At first, since my baby weighed 7 lbs when she was born, maneuvering this stroller was very easy until she weighed 20 lbs when she turned 1. Not only that, the basket underneath would be hitting the wheels every time I added a thin blanket & a couple of jeans or anything that weighed slightly heavy. The wheels gave me problems when I needed to turn it. It felt like I was making a slight detour when something extra was being added in that small basket. It worked well when I didn’t have anything in it. So I ended up buying those hooks you connect on the handles so I could get some help carrying my stuff when I shop around. The only thing I liked about this stroller is that i can have the baby face away from the sun without putting any extra blanket over the stroller. I also liked this stroller because the baby can face me and we’d see each other while I’m in a long line at the grocery store or library. Being bulky is acceptable for us because we have a van. But if you have a small car, it will take over the whole space in your car. Pls. research more on a better stroller than this. Good luck!
5 Stars The most comfortable stroller I’ve ever had!
My first stroller was Chicco, and yet after all its benefits I switched to the Bumbleride. It’s goes so much easier and smoother, and the option of seeing you baby by switching the handle is awesome. I love everything about this stroller: its genius simplicity, easiness to fold/unfold. It is easy to take off the covers whenever I need to wash them, and then to snap them back. The footmuff is another great addition to the whole package- it keeps my baby warm, and with an extra “bundle me” I can take her for long rides in even the coldest days.
4 Stars Only 1 step reversible stroller available!
I love this stroller - way nicer than my Gracco but 1/2 the price of the more expensive brands. This is the only stroller that you can switch the baby from facing you to facing the world in one easy step by flipping the handle - all of the others you need someone to hold your child while you remove and flip the seat. Also comes with more accessories than the average stroller - love the attached and rotating cup holder and the foot muff. Not sure how great the pictures are but this stroller has the BIGGEST canopy it will fold all the way down to the bar to help block the sun. The only 2 reasons i didn’t rate the stroller 5 stars: 1. it didn’t come with a rain cover, and 2. i had to watch a video to figure out how to steer it - you need to lock the back wheels for which ever direction you’re going.
