1 Star Looks aren’t everything
I received the 2006 model of this stroller for my baby shower. I has read good reviews on it and thought it was more attractive than your run-of-the-mill Graco stroller, and less expensive than the trendy Bugaboo. I am so dissappointed with the quality of this stroller, however. The main problem I have with it is that no matter what I do this stroller veers to the left when strolling. This make the stroller IMPOSSIBLE to use. I literally have used this stoller less than 5 times and I’ve had it for a year. Everytime I try to use it I get so frusterated that I want to just throw the stroller away. Please do not waste your money on this product.

4 Stars We like it…
Well, I wanted to chime in and give a good review of the bumbleride flyer. We purchased for our first born and have not been too terribly disappointed. Like others, we could not justify the $$$$ of the Bugaboo (esp. considering it’s made it Taiwan, not like it’s made in Europe or US), but wanted something cooler/better than Graco or the like.

I’ve never had another stroller, so I don’t have something else to compare it with, but even with that said, we’ve had a relatively postive experience with the Flyer, so wanted to share.

I wish it had the option to have 2 cup holders, instead of just one and a bit of a larger basket below the seat, but it is still spacious enough. I do have to agree with other reviewer, that it sometimes doesn’t latch shut when you fold it down and it can be difficult to get up on the curb, but you just have to finagle it a bit. So those would probably be my 2 complaints of the stroller(and why I didn’t give a 5 star review). Other than that, we really enjoy the stroller and have had no real “issues” with it. It rolls just fine for us in our neighborhood, at the mall and in the park on the gravel path. It does stear much better in the forward facing position, but having the option to switch the handle around so you can face your baby can be a life saver. I’ve been out with our daughter and she was fine facing out for half the walk, but on the way back she’s gotten upset and having the option to switch and see her has helped calm her down. If I hadn’t had that option, she would have screamed all the way home.

I’m sure the Bugaboo probably is a bit better than the Flyer, especially in a big city setting, but I can’t see how it could possibly be $1000 better! That’s just us though.

2 Stars Good for the 1st year, but after that I don’t recommend this stroller.
Yes, this had a good review last 2007, but I highly don’t recommend this stroller to new parents. At first, since my baby weighed 7 lbs when she was born, maneuvering this stroller was very easy until she weighed 20 lbs when she turned 1. Not only that, the basket underneath would be hitting the wheels every time I added a thin blanket & a couple of jeans or anything that weighed slightly heavy. The wheels gave me problems when I needed to turn it. It felt like I was making a slight detour when something extra was being added in that small basket. It worked well when I didn’t have anything in it. So I ended up buying those hooks you connect on the handles so I could get some help carrying my stuff when I shop around. The only thing I liked about this stroller is that i can have the baby face away from the sun without putting any extra blanket over the stroller. I also liked this stroller because the baby can face me and we’d see each other while I’m in a long line at the grocery store or library. Being bulky is acceptable for us because we have a van. But if you have a small car, it will take over the whole space in your car. Pls. research more on a better stroller than this. Good luck!

5 Stars The most comfortable stroller I’ve ever had!
My first stroller was Chicco, and yet after all its benefits I switched to the Bumbleride. It’s goes so much easier and smoother, and the option of seeing you baby by switching the handle is awesome. I love everything about this stroller: its genius simplicity, easiness to fold/unfold. It is easy to take off the covers whenever I need to wash them, and then to snap them back. The footmuff is another great addition to the whole package- it keeps my baby warm, and with an extra “bundle me” I can take her for long rides in even the coldest days.

4 Stars Only 1 step reversible stroller available!
I love this stroller - way nicer than my Gracco but 1/2 the price of the more expensive brands. This is the only stroller that you can switch the baby from facing you to facing the world in one easy step by flipping the handle - all of the others you need someone to hold your child while you remove and flip the seat. Also comes with more accessories than the average stroller - love the attached and rotating cup holder and the foot muff. Not sure how great the pictures are but this stroller has the BIGGEST canopy it will fold all the way down to the bar to help block the sun. The only 2 reasons i didn’t rate the stroller 5 stars: 1. it didn’t come with a rain cover, and 2. i had to watch a video to figure out how to steer it - you need to lock the back wheels for which ever direction you’re going.

5 Stars Lightweight & Fashionable! The Indie is a Bumbleride winner!

5 Stars Wonderful stroller
I am so shocked that not all these reviews aren’t 5 stars. We love this stroller. My baby is now 9 months old and we have been using it since day one. Our family is very active with running and hiking and I am very impressed with this stroller.

For light jogging purposes (3-5 miles is all I do) on the street and trail it is great. The rain flap works great, we never used the infant car seat attachment (we “babywear” a lot, so the car seat stayed in car). I will admit the directions to put it together weren’t that easy to follow, but customer service with Bumble Ride is very friendly. The canopy works well and covers a lot, sometimes the sun is just in the wrong spot to cover completely.

I walk to the grocery store a lot too. I can fit a large grocery bag in the base and a six pack of beer.

And most important my baby loves it. He loves the pattern on the inside (we have the red stroller), he just chills and almost always falls asleep.

2 Stars Looks Great - Preforms Below Average
Bumbleride offers a very stylish, great concept with this stroller. After months of research on “urban” strollers, we purchased a Bumbleride Indie. Bumbleride has AMAZING customer service - and was exteremly helpful during our first month with this product. This stroller looks great but has some issues with quality and functionality. The cup holder attachment is not secure and I would never put a liquid that close to my child, not practical. The seat recline seems to be a little on the unstable side, we have a larger 6 month old (19 lbs) and already have issues reclining easily with that weight in the stroller. The mechanics of the recline seem to be poorly constructed. The biggest issue we have with this stroller is the canopy - if you want to keep it in one position (upright) it seems to stay most of the time. Once you move the canopy forward or backward to accommodate the sun’s location or to see your child, the entire canopy shifts/slips and does not stay in place. After many troubleshooting emails and shipments of new parts, we unfortunately needed to move on from the Indie and find a more solid, better constructed urban stroller. Customer Service at Bumbleride gets 5+ stars, quality of product much lower.

5 Stars LUV, LUV, LUV
We purchased a 2008 Indie for our 8 month old son. We live in San Diego and go for walks and jogs with it. It is wonderful. I love everything about it. The footmuff is perfect helps keep in the dangling blankets or just adds a little protection. The back of the sun canopy comes unzipped so air can flow through on hot days. The back lays flat for when our son takes a nap. The basket holds a ton. the break is nice one foot break that doesn’t get accidentaly stepped on while walking. It is easy to close and very, very easy to open (one handed). It is a nice lookin, sturdy ride and my son is very happy riding in his indie. I give it 5 out of 5!

5 Stars LOVE this stroller!
We purchased the Bumbleride Indie last December before the birth of our baby, and it was definitely one of the best baby purchases we made. We did extensive research on strollers, going into multiple stores and test driving all the offerings. We were looking for a stroller that had the smooth ride and modern design of something like the Bugaboo, but without the price tag. In my opinion, the Bumbleride Indie represents the best value for your dollar in strollers. This thing is a wonder!

During the first several months of our baby’s life we used the Indie with the Graco Snugride car seat attached to it. It’s really easy to attach the car seat bar and strap the seat to the stroller. When he was big enough, we put him in the stroller without the car seat. I take my son on a walk every day in our urban neighborhood, over rough sidewalks, curbs and exposed tree roots. The Indie sails over these things. The inflatable tires provide such a smooth ride. I go walking with a friend who has an Orbit, and the Orbit is forever catching on uneven sidewalk while my Indie has no trouble. When I pop into the local coffee shop, I can navigate the stroller easily with one hand while opening doors. It’s extremely maneuverable. The cup holder is fantastic and allows me to take my coffee to go. I also take the Indie to the local market and there’s plenty of room for my groceries underneath the seat. Another excellent feature is the sun cover, which extends very far forward and even unzips to provide an extra range of protection if you need it.

Folding and transporting this stroller is easy. The Indie only weighs 20 lbs., which was one of the big selling points for us. It is a cinch to fold down and lift into the trunk of a car. We have a hybrid with a smallish trunk, and the Indie fits in there just fine. We’ve taken this stroller just about everywhere and love how easy it is to transport.

Not only does this stroller perform beyond my expectations, but it looks fantastic. I get stopped constantly on the street by people who want to know about this stroller. It’s definitely stylish.

Oh, and if you ever have questions about your Indie, I’ve found Bumbleride’s customer service to be amazingly helpful. I’ve called them twice– once because I accidentally pulled out one of the grommets on the seat fabric. Once because I had a question about whether I could and should grease the wheels. Both times my calls were answered by an actual person within moments and my questions answered politely and helpfully. In the first case, Bumbleride sent me new fabric for the seat immediately, FOR FREE and overnight, even though it had really been my fault in pulling out the grommet. Rarely have I encountered customer service as wonderful as this. So, I cannot recommend this stroller and this brand highly enough. We are so pleased with our purchase.
