For a stroller that grows with your child, the Simmons Pearl Stroller is three models in one! In the beginning stages, the Pearl Stroller easily converts into a baby carriage enabling you to travel safely with your newborn. User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Preliminary review
The stroller just arrived yesterday, so I have not actually used it yet, but since there are apparently no reviews on this product yet, I thought people might still want to know what I think of it so far.

First, I love the fact that the seat can face either direction (one of the main reasons I bought it). It also folds up neatly and easily when the seat is faced away from the handle (although it does require both hands). However, it does not seem to fold completely when the seat is faced towards the handle, which could potentially become quite inconvenient.

The stroller is very nice and light and handles well (although I do not know yet how it handles with a child in it). However, it does not appear to be the best quality (my husband is concerned that it does not appear to be 100safe, for instance, because the seat is held in to the frame at only two points), but perhaps time will tell about that. The instructions booklet does say that the stroller is suitable for newborns, but I must admit that it does not look like something I would feel comfortable putting a newborn into. (Maybe that’s just me–baby is not born yet.)

Another thing that looks like it will be an issue: the sun awning will probably be adequate when the seat is in the upright position, but it seems that when the seat is in the reclined position, the awning will be completely ineffective.

A couple of other things, although I consider them trivial: the basket under the stroller opens in the front of the stroller, rather than near the person pushing–this makes no sense to me. Also there are no cup holders, but I’m not totally sure why people want cup holders on a stroller anyway.

I only paid $100 for this (not through Amazon), which is why I was willing to risk buying a product that had no customer reviews, but still, I doubt that I would buy it again having been able to investigate it in person.

UPDATE:

I still haven’t used the stroller yet, but someone who knows what he’s talking about has looked at it and assured me that this stroller is fine for a newborn. Also, I haven’t tried this yet either, but I bought a canopy extender which should hopefully take care of the awning issue. I would actually probably increase my rating (even though I still haven’t used the stroller), but the website won’t let me.

3 Stars Delta Simmons Pearl stroller: good but not amazing
Quick rundown:

lightest weight stroller I could find that has the option of facing baby toward you or away from you.

rear wheel covers popped off 7 times in first 15 minutes of use.

Instruction booklet for assembly is quite poor. Anyone who has assembled a stroller before or is adept at looking at things and seeing where they fit should be fine but if you rely on the user guide for actual help in assembling things, you are going to need a second person or a different stroller.

Very attractive and easy to use. When seat is facing the parent, stroller cannot be folded completely.

Sun shade needs improvement. It is on the narrow end of the spectrum and is not adequately adjustable.

The basket seems shallow.

There’s no parent-friendly places for a water bottle or cell phone, keys, iPod, etc.

With some after-market accessories, I am going to make it a great stroller, once I get these damn wheel covers to stay put.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Must buy
I love this cover, and use it almost everyday in the winter. Keep your little one warm and sheltered. I use this in combo with the ray shade.

5 Stars BEST accessory purchase!
This was the best $30 I spent on my baby, we live in michigan and can now walk almost year round despite conditions. It stays so warm inside for her, it’s like a greenhouse if the sun is out. Even when we are walking in 20 degree weather, her cheeks are warm when we get out–she stays toasty! along with the sun cover for the summer, thsi is the BEST accessory for the stroller and now when I see kids in stollers in the winter without a plastic shield, it seems a little abusive almsot b.c i know how warm my daughter is.

4 Stars Effective raincover but could use improvements
It fits the stroller very well, although initially I thought it was too tight but I think I wasn’t attaching it exactly right at the handlebars. I find that it doesn’t vent that well and there’s slight fogging inside. Doesn’t seem to bother my baby and I can see inside easily still so not too concerned.

I like how it’s easy to fold up flat (albeit long) and store in your basket without taking up all the room. Also useful when it’s windy and cold, but not raining. Not sure if the black part is for design (which does improve the look drastically!) but appears waterproof as it seems to be coated underneath. It’s fairly thin material so doesn’t add bulk when folded up.

Sure wished there were zippers like the Mountain Buggy covers to allow easy access to the child, or if it stops raining, allow you to fold up the “window” and let them get fresh air. Then if it starts to rain again, so easy to roll down the vinyl. That would have gotten 5 stars easily. I do love the “spaceship” look of the raincover but wonder if covering the lower basket of if one had attached panniers would have been more practical (as I live in Vancouver!)

5 Stars very good looking and practical cover
Simply stated this storm cover looks great with our Phil and Ted Stroller and is very helpful in blocking wind and rain. We have not tried it in the snow yet, but from its appearance it should work out fine in the snow as well. Very intuitive to put on. The shipping and delivery from Magic bean was fast.
